Iran Mulls Building Phase II of Mahshahr Petzone : The National Petrochemical Company (NPC) is planning to complete the value chain in the second phase of Mahshahr Petrochemical Zone (PETZONE) in the southwestern provinces of Khuzestan.

Iran Mulls Building Phase II of Mahshahr PetzoneAccording to NPC, a senior official with the company Ali Mohmmad Bossaqzadeh said projects had been devised to be developed in the second phase of the region in order to complete the petrochemical value chain.

Most of Iran’s petrochemical facilities are concentrated in the port cities of Asalouyeh and Mahshahr. The cities account for nearly 80% of Iran’s petrochemical output.

He said the second phase will be 2.5 times bigger than the first phase, adding efforts for receiving environmental and natural resources permits are ongoing to acquire the required land for implementing the projects.

Mr. Bossaqzadeh, who is NPC’s project manager, said the projects were defined given the fact that the amount of associated gas production had increased in the country. Becauase the NGL 3200 projects is productive of methane, ethane, propane and butane, the value chain needs to be completed to consume the output. Shource: SHANA
