Gas Production Begins in South Pars Platform 14C : Production of gas was started in platform 14C of South Pars gas field (Iran shares with Qatar in the Persian Gulf), operator of phase 14 of developing the gas field.

Gas Production Begins in South Pars Platform 14CHamidreza Masoudi said platform 14C has the daily capacity of extracting 500 million cubic feet (14.1 million cubic meters) of sour gas, Public Relations Department of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), which is in charge of developing the field, reported.

Phase 14 of South Pars development is projected to produce 56.6 million cubic meters of sour gas, 75,000 barrels of gas condensate, and 400 tons of sulfur per day, in addition to one million tons of LPG and one million tons of ethane per year.

Masoudi has previously announced that this phase enjoys the most Iranian technical and engineering capabilities among the similar projects.

According to the Pars Oil & Gas Company, the development project of the South Pars Phase 14 is aimed at producing 56.6 mcm of sour gas and 75,000 barrels of gas condensate.
Annual production of more than 1 million tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), one million tons of ethanol to be consumed by petrochemical units, and a daily production of 400 tons of sulfur have also been envisaged in developing the project.

South Pars gas field, which Iran shares with Qatar, is estimated to contain a significant amount of natural gas, accounting for about eight percent of the world’s reserves, and approximately 18 billion barrels of condensate. The field is divided into 24 standard phases. Source: Tehran Times
